You do not need a special permit to drive a golf cart. An LSV (Low-Speed Vehicle) is required to be titled and registered with a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Please check with your local regulations.
-
Do I need a special license to drive my golf cart?
Each state has its own requirements, but generally, you do not need a special license to drive a golf cart; you just must be at least 14 years old to drive one on public roads. -
Do the golf carts have seatbelts?
Golf carts and PTVs (Personal Transportation Vehicles) are typically not equipped with seat belts. While their use is a personal preference, industry experts have suggested that seat belts are not necessary and may involve a safety tradeoff that is best addressed with an occupant protection structure or cab. Special E-Z-GO golf carts, including LSVs, that are equipped with an occupant protection structure or cab include seat belts.
