Flooded Vehicles
If your vehicle was exposed to significant flooding or water ingress, including any flooding reaching the bodywork of the vehicle, we advise you to perform the following steps as soon as possible:
- Please isolate your vehicle outdoors and at least 15 feet away from other vehicles, buildings and structures.
- If your vehicle will turn on and move under its own power, move it away from buildings and other vehicles. If you see or smell smoke or sparks, hear popping or hissing noises, or feel heat from under the vehicle’s seat, immediately stop use and exit the vehicle.
- If your vehicle will not turn on or does not respond to accelerator input, use other means, such as towing, to isolate it from structures and other vehicles.
- Once isolated, place the vehicle’s keyswitch in the ‘OFF’ position and remove the key from the vehicle. If the vehicle is equipped with a ‘RUN/TOW’ switch, ensure that the switch is in the ‘RUN’ position. This switch is located under the vehicle’s seat.
- Do not charge the vehicle.
- Make record of the vehicle’s serial number (typically located on a decal under the vehicle’s charging port or on the vehicle’s steering column.)
- Contact your E-Z-GO or Cushman authorized dealer to schedule an inspection of your vehicle. This inspection must be completed before your vehicle is operated.
Please note: If a vehicle has been immersed in water up to the vehicle’s seat, it will be a total loss, as its batteries and electrical components have been completely submerged. In these cases, please follow the steps outlined above as soon as possible. We also recommend that you consult your insurance provider regarding potential loss claims if the inspection determines that the vehicle is a loss.
If you have any questions about this process or about your vehicle, please contact your E-Z-GO or Cushman Authorized Dealer or E-Z-GO Customer Care at 888.438.3946.
